In middle and high school P.E. and WIN classes, we were fortunate enough to have some fun thanks to a great organization, Prairie Grit!
The awesome community organization that specializes in making and providing opportunities for disabled athletes to compete in activities they love, helped our students experience the fun and excitement of wheelchair basketball! Our students learned, firsthand, the fun, hardworking, and challenging task of wheelchair basketball and other adaptive activities!
The students learned empathy for others especially those who are required to be in a wheelchair. They were able to walk in theirs shoes for a class period and maybe get a glimpse into the daily life of someone in a wheelchair. Students also learned to problem-solve and figure out different ways to accomplish activities while learning teamwork and how to trust their teammates.
Thanks to Prairie Grit for a great learning experience for our students!
