The girls played hard and came up one point short yesterday, but we are so proud of their effort and determination! Today they take the court one last time this season, playing for 3rd place at 3:00. 5th and 6th grade boys basketball practice starts on Monday, March 10th at 3:30. The coach is Tanner Mosser. You can find the schedule of games on our Google events calendar and in the Athletics section of our Royals app/website.

There will be free shuttles for fans to go from the fair grounds to the games. The first one will leave at 5:45 and the second one will leave at 6:00. The buses will drop off at the Dome south entrance and then will take people back to the fair grounds right after the game. There will be Planet Pizza for everyone at the hospitality room tonight! Remember, if you haven't paid for your shirt yet, please pay and pick it up in the office today!

👕State tshirts are done! We will organize them and get them ready to hand out in the morning. If shirts are paid for, they will be sent home with students. Parents can also stop by to pick up shirts from 10:00-11:30 at the high school office. *Shirts can't be picked up until they are paid for! *If you can't pick up/pay at school, you can pickup at the hospitality room after the game at 4:00 pm.

🏀State Girls Basketball Fan Info: 📣Student Section Dress up Days: Thursday- Frat/Jersey Friday- Neon Saturday- Blue Out Other fans, feel free to wear your sparkles and/or royal blue every day! 💙 🚌Pep bus will leave from the school at 12:00 tomorrow to drive kids to the game! If you want to ride the pep bus, have a parent call the high school office to get on the list! The pep bus will only be dropping kids off at the game. They will have to be picked up at the MSU Dome after the game.

Reminder: tomorrow, Thursday, March 6th, we will have an early out to support the girls basketball team in the state tournament! School will dismiss at 11:50 and buses will run at 12:00! Elementary students will all have lunch before dismissal and students in grades 6-12 will all eat lunch at 11:30. If students in 6-12 want to leave at 11:30 and not eat at school, they will be allowed to leave at that time.

Congratulations to the boys basketball team on their win tonight. They advance to quarterfinals of the regional tournament where they will take on DLB at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10th at the MSU Dome! This year, South Prairie started an esports team for students in grades 6-12! In the inaugural season, 13 students participated! When students sign up, they can choose between the game titles available in the state for that year, and pick which games they want to participate in. Some games are team-based and some are individual. South Prairie has students that participate in Minecraft, Valorant, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Fortnite. The regular season was 8 weeks long and each week they compete against another team in North Dakota. At the end of the regular season, the top teams qualify for the state competition where they play live at the University of North Dakota, March 28-29. Last night, our Minecraft team, Oliver Brunner, Ace Erickson, Anna Marmon, Gavin Nesson, and Stella Schneider(sub), beat Mandan to move them up to 4th place in the state at the end of the regular season. There were 20 varsity teams in North Dakota that participated this year. Hunter Education Parents Todays class will go until approximately 8:00-8:30. The schedule had it listed earlier. Final Testing will start at 7:00, all students will do a written and hands on test. Kids will be able to call if they finish earlier. Mr. Stanley

The junior high boys basketball games scheduled for today vs. MLS and Thursday vs. Drake are canceled. Both teams canceled due to their varsity boys' district tournament.

 Other Events: Wednesday: Pep Rally open to the public at 2:30 p.m. Thursday: Parade in Max at 8:45 a.m. Send-off in the South Prairie parking lot at 9:10 There will be a pep bus taking any kids from grades 6-12 who want to go to the game. The bus will leave from the school at 12:00 and then students will be picked up from the Dome after the game. The jh boys basketball players will get back on the bus and drive to their game. Friday’s school day will be normal hours. There will be a hospitality room each day for our team and fans to gather. If any people or businesses would like to donate to help cover the costs of the hospitality room and the food, please contact Mr. Stanley or the high school office.
