South Prairie Families and Community Members,

As the winter sports season comes to a close and we enter into tournament play, I want to remind everyone that South Prairie has a long-standing tradition of being a place where people want to come—whether it’s for a game, a concert, or a school event. That reputation didn’t happen by accident. It was built over time through strong community support, mutual respect, and pride in how we represent ourselves.

When we attend games and school activities, people notice. They know who we are. They see how we act. Our reputation is shaped far more by our behavior than by wins and losses.

We ask all parents and fans to continue representing South Prairie School in a positive, respectful manner at all sporting and school events. Cheer hard. Support our students. Be passionate. But remember that officials, opposing teams, and visiting communities are guests—and our students are watching how adults handle both success and adversity.

Our goal has never been to be known solely for the scoreboard. We want to be known for class, sportsmanship, and a community that supports its kids the right way.

Let’s continue to show others why South Prairie is a place people respect and enjoy visiting—by setting the example every time we are in the stands.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school.

Student Council hosted its annual Royal Ties event, bringing students together to create tie blankets for donation to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. Attendance grows each year, and it’s amazing to see the generosity and dedication of our South Prairie students. Participants arrived at school as early as 7:15 a.m. to help make a difference!

Beyond blanket-making, students enjoyed working as a team, spending time with friends, and sharing donuts for breakfast.

Great job, Royals!

🤼 South Prairie 6th Graders Shine at 2025 ND Middle School State Wrestling Tournament!

The 2025 North Dakota Middle School State Wrestling Tournament on December 20th was a showcase of talent, determination, and teamwork—none more so than the impressive performances by three South Prairie 6th Grade wrestlers who co-op with Minot Public Schools.

Liam Austin (80 lbs) captured a 1st place finish, demonstrating exceptional skill and composure on the mat. Easton Lockrem (90 lbs) battled his way to a 2nd place finish, showing grit and resilience throughout the tournament. Landen Sandstrom (95 lbs) also earned a 1st place finish, capping off a remarkable run for the South Prairie contingent.

With over 30 teams from across North Dakota participating, these outstanding individual results contributed a significant number of team points in both the 6th Grade Division and the overall point total for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Their efforts were instrumental in Minot Middle School securing the overall North Dakota State Middle School State Championship—winning by nearly double the points of the second-place team.

Top 5 Team Scores – 6th Grade Division
Minot – 242 points
St. Mary’s – 147 points
Wachter – 122.5 points
Williston – 86.5 points
