Just a little pupdate from your favorite South Prairie therapy pup!
🐶 Roy has been BUSY this summer working on his therapy training and learning how to be a big brother.
🦮 He has been training with Amynda Behm who is teaching him more intense therapy skills, obedience, manners, socialization (with people and dogs), and lots and lots of focus and listening skills. He is doing this all while learning how to be a Dock Dog and he is SO GOOOOD at it! (We will have to convince Mr. Stanley to make Roy his own trophy case at the school 😜)
🌞 Amynda’s donation of time and money has been extremely helpful 🥰 If you, or a business you know, would also like to help out this coming year with expenses that include training, food, vet bills, grooming, and other things to keep Roy in tip top shape for school, Roy (and Ms. Sasso) would be SO grateful 🤍
✌🏼Roy is taking donations through South Prairie or his Venmo account (@roythetherapypup)

✅ Also mark your calendars for August 16th & 17th as Roy will be showing off his Dock Dog skills at Minot Scheels Dog Days of Summer event! He would LOVE our Royals support 💙
He cannot wait to see all his pawsome Royals again SOON!

South Prairie School District Cell Phone / Electronic Personal Device Policy:
There will be an important change taking effect at the start of the upcoming school year. Due to a recent change in state law, and in accordance with newly adopted District Policy FFI, all student access to cell phones, Bluetooth earpieces, and smartwatches will be restricted during the school day.
These personal devices must remain inaccessible to students from the first bell to the last bell of the school day. To support students in complying with this new policy, South Prairie School District will implement the Yondr pouch system. This system allows students to keep their phones with them, but locked in a secure pouch that cannot be accessed during school hours. Students will be required to lock their phones in their pouches at the start of their day, and will be able to unlock it at various stations at the end of the day.
All students in grades K-12 have the following options for Yondr Pouches:
-Rent for the school year: $10
-Purchase and own: $30
All students bringing a phone into the school building will be required to secure it in a Yondr pouch upon entry and keep it secured until dismissal. Students can also choose to keep their phone at home.
We understand this is a significant adjustment for some families, but we believe this step will promote a more focused, respectful, and safe learning environment. The policy is designed to reduce distractions, support mental well-being, and protect instructional time.
Disciplinary actions for students who do not follow this policy will be added to the discipline matrix and student handbook.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school office or reach out to me directly. Thank you for your continued support in making South Prairie a safe and productive place for all students.
Wayne Stanley
Superintendent
South Prairie School District

Just a reminder that today from 9:00-5:00 is the sports physical day at the school.
Don't forget - all student athletes are required to have a physical by their first day of practice!
