DC Trip-Day 2: Our first full day was jammed packed with a lot of things to see and experience for the first time. Stops at the US Capital and the Library of Congress in the morning, followed by lunch and a trip to the White House. Then onto the Holocaust Museum where the kids got to view some pretty intense and emotional things. They were give an ID card that had a name of one of the prisoners of the camps and their story and whether they survived. Then it was time for supper at a Texas BBQ joint and a short visit to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial before the clouds opened up and rained on us. Tomorrow is another jammed packed day highlighted with a trip to Gettysburg.

Day 1 of the Washington DC trip is in the books. After an all night drive to Minneapolis and 2 flights, we arrived in DC and took in the Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Lincoln Monument and the Korean War Memorial followed by dinner and check in at the hotel. Here's to a good night's rest and a busty day tomorrow.

I want to thank the South Prairie community for helping to make this my second home for the past 28 years. I have been so blessed and honored to have been a part of the lives of staff, parents, students, and the ROYAL’S community. As I retire and drive home today, I take you with me in my heart and soul.
