Congratulations to the boys golf team on a great season, and to Gage Aberle (8th grader) on qualifying individually for the state tournament! Gage finished in the top 20 individuals at the super regional (who didn’t qualify as one of the top 4 teams already). The state tournament will take place June 2-3 at CrossRoads Golf Club in Carrington.

Congratulations to both the baseball and softball teams on good seasons! The Cossacks Softball team finished as the 7th seed out of 12 teams! The girls battled their way to the Regional Tournament and competed hard, ultimately falling short against two tough teams. 🥎Congrats to Olivia Jansen on being named Region 4 Second Team All-Region! ⚾️ Congrats to Tate Heer on being named to the Region 6 All-Region Team!

South Prairie Middle School proudly celebrated the end of another outstanding school year with our 2nd Annual “Royals of Distinction” Awards Assembly. During the event, students were recognized for their achievements in academics, character, growth, attendance, and for exemplifying our core values of being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.

We are incredibly proud of our students and the positive impact they have on our school community each day. Throughout the year, they demonstrated perseverance, kindness, integrity, school spirit, and a willingness to support one another both inside and outside the classroom.

As another school year comes to a close, we want our students and families to know how much we have appreciated the opportunity to work with such an outstanding group of young people. It has been a joy watching them grow academically, socially, and personally throughout the year. It is always bitter sweet to see them go for the summer but we always look forward to seeing them grow over the summer before they return next fall.

Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community members for making South Prairie such a special place. We wish everyone a safe, restful, and well-deserved summer break!

Elementary had their field day yesterday! 🏃‍♂️ 260 kids went through 6 different stations this afternoon - from rock paper scissors ✂️ to ice cream relay 🍦 the fun didn’t stop. Of course they ended with popsicles and the tug-of-war contest!! 🍭🏋️‍♂️ Thanks to Mrs. Myers for putting it on and all the paras and parents that helped. The kiddos had a great time! 💙🤍

We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming Brigitte Greywater back to South Prairie for the second year to lead a volleyball camp for students in grades 7–12 on June 8–9! This is a great opportunity for athletes to improve their skills, build confidence, and get valuable touches on the ball before the upcoming season. I strongly encourage players to attend!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Check in every morning, write an X by your name. Don’t be late.

2. Bring notebook, folder, pencils or pens, and paper. Lunch will not be provided. Each student needs to pack a lunch. The fridge in concessions area will be available to store food in the morning. Bring coolers. Please clean up after yourselves.

3. Each day will have one short break in the morning, one in the afternoon, plus a break for noon lunch. Length of breaks will depend on student behavior.

4. All students must be back in classroom at the designated time and ready to go back to work. After 3 tardies you will be excused from the class and will not be allowed back in.

5. All rules in Mr. Cooper’s classroom will apply in this class. Turn phones off. I will have a place for you to have your phones. Can have them on breaks. No need to be running all over the place. Stick around and practice social distance.

6. Bring folders and keep all materials.

7. Each of you will drive two different days. The schedule for driving will be set as soon as possible. Each student will drive for 6 total hours (3 hours a day). The days you drive you will be picked up at the school and when your times up on your driving days you can drive yourself home or be dropped off at the school. Driving portion to be scheduled by Mr. Cooper. He will hand out the summer driving schedule at some point during the 4 day classroom session.


8. We have a lot of students this year, ZERO TOLERANCE WITH CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR. Don’t be surprised if we go into August or September scheduling driving times.
