On Saturday, March 23rd, the South Prairie-Max Speech Team hosted our first invitational meet in Max. 19 teams defied the odds of inclement weather and came to Max to compete. Results for the blue and white home team are:

The next speech meet for our team is Region 8 on Saturday, April 6th at South Prairie High School. It is open to the public with no admission cost to watch our speakers. It has been an absolute awesome season so far! Regionals is our most important meet of the season.

The Booster Club is looking for groups, teams, and individuals to fill some shifts for the basketball tournament this weekend. Groups and/or individuals are paid fairly well for working these shifts. The money goes into your group/team fund for various purchases by group advisors/coaches, etc. Below are the needs. If your group/team can take a shift let Mr. Routledge know!
Clean up crew: both Saturday and Sunday $200.00 each day
Concessions: Saturday---4 people—3:30-7:30 Sunday-----4 people—3:30-7:30
Admission/gate: Sunday-----1 people at South Prairie---7:30 am-11:30 am Sunday-----1 person at “Earnest Academy”---7:30 am-11:30 am
**They could also use more people for all shifts if available but the above is the minimum they need.
Student council has their table set up in the commons during lunch to buy forget-me-not flowers until next Thursday!

This weekend the Booster Club will be hosting their last travel basketball tournament for the season @ South Prairie. If you are looking for something to occupy your time, we could use your help! We are looking for adults & students to fill the shifts. Please remember that for every shift your organization works, a portion of the money raised will go to that organization. You can be part of any school organization or athletic team: baseball, softball, volleyball, cheer, football, golf, trap shooting, basketball, PTO,FFA, drama club, speech team or even for your class! Congratulations to South Prairie FFA on their completion of the Winter Career Development Event season yesterday. 10 members competed in the areas of Agricultural Sales, Agronomy, and Livestock Judging. The Ag Sales team took second place overall, narrowly missing out on a chance to compete at Nationals.
Individually, Gracie Rauschenberger was a gold award recipient, placing 5th in a field of 201 individuals. Team members Brylee Beeter, Joshua Lindbo, and Natalee Becker also took home gold awards. Jacob Kramer received a bronze award. In Agronomy, Breanna Mindt received a bronze award. Miranda Novodvorsky also competed. In the Livestock Judging event, Amber Braasch received a silver award. Bryleigh McBride and Alysa Rice also competed. Good work to all our competitors!

💜 The student council's fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association starts today! Here is a breakdown of how you can help and compete!
PreK-5:
-Any student, family member, teacher, or supporter can buy a flower for a certain teacher's classroom. The class with the most flowers at the end of lunch on the 28th will get to spray Mrs. Neshem with silly string and win a Royals Roast for their class.
-Flowers can be purchased from their classroom teacher March 18-28.
6-12th grade:
-Individual student competition: students can buy a flower, put their locker number on it, and then the student with the most flowers on their locker wins a $25 Visa gift card and Royals Roast certificate for 5 drinks. (One winner for 6-8 and one for 9-12)
-Teacher competition: anyone can place a vote for a teacher they want to shave their head! Whichever teacher has the most votes will get their head shaved in front of the whole school!
Teachers who were nominated to shave their head are: Mr. MacIver, Mr. Stach, Mr. Routledge, and Mr. Seidler!
-Flowers can be purchased during JH and HS lunches.

The pizzas from the prom fundraiser will be delivered tomorrow, March 18, and all students need to make arrangements for them to be picked up after 3:00 pm.

On the road to Carrington yesterday, South Prairie FFA members competed in their last contest of the regular Winter Career Development Event season. Amber Braasch earned 4th place gold in the Livestock Judging Contest. In Ag Sales, Joshua Lindbo, Gracie Rauschenberger, and Jacob Kramer received gold. Miley Nelson placed silver and Logan Hanneman took bronze. The Ag Sales team earned a silver. Bronze recipients in the Agronomy competition were Miranda Novodvorsky and Breanna Mindt. Good work FFA members and best of luck at state!

The Max-South Prairie Speech Team competed today at the Glenburn Invite. Natalee Becker got 1st in Informative Speech and State Qualified for the Class B State Tournament in Mandan in April! Congrats Natalee!
Emma Marten placed 2nd in EPR and Elias Jimenez placed 9th in EPR.
Emma Marten and Skylar Beck placed 3rd in Serious Duo.
Maddie Hogue and Natalee Becker placed 3rd in Humorous Duo.
Emma Marten was 4th in Poetry.

Emma Marten was also 7th in Dramatic.
Both Natalee Becker and Emma Marten earned the last leg of All State so are members of the ND Speech and Theater 🎭 All State Team! Congrats ladies!

South Prairie FFA members traveled to Turtle Lake this weekend to participate in the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Career Development Events. Here are the results:
The Ag Sales team consisting of Brylee Beeter, Natalee Becker, Jacob Kramer, and Joshua Lindbo took 2nd place. Individually, Joshua Lindbo placed gold, 3rd overall in the competition. Jacob Kramer placed gold and 9th overall. Brylee Beeter was silver, 14th overall. Natalee Becker and Miley Nelson placed bronze. Taylor Weber and Logan Hanneman also competed.
Miranda Novodvorsky and Breanna Mindt participated in the Agronomy competition. Bryleigh McBride and Alysa Rice participated in Livestock Judging.
