The Max-South Prairie Speech Team competed today at the Glenburn Invite. Natalee Becker got 1st in Informative Speech and State Qualified for the Class B State Tournament in Mandan in April! Congrats Natalee!
Emma Marten placed 2nd in EPR and Elias Jimenez placed 9th in EPR.
Emma Marten and Skylar Beck placed 3rd in Serious Duo.
Maddie Hogue and Natalee Becker placed 3rd in Humorous Duo.
Emma Marten was 4th in Poetry.
Karl Behm was 4th in Impromptu.
Skylar Beck placed 5th in Impromptu and 6th in Serious Prose.
Maddie Hogue was 5th in Humorous Interp.
Natalee Becker was 6th in her Entertain and 8th in Humorous Interp.
Calen Rohrbach placed 6th in Impromptu.
Emma Marten was also 7th in Dramatic.
Both Natalee Becker and Emma Marten earned the last leg of All State so are members of the ND Speech and Theater 🎭 All State Team! Congrats ladies!
The next speech meet for our speakers is March 23rd in Max: Our Home Meet!

South Prairie FFA members traveled to Turtle Lake this weekend to participate in the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Career Development Events. Here are the results:
The Ag Sales team consisting of Brylee Beeter, Natalee Becker, Jacob Kramer, and Joshua Lindbo took 2nd place. Individually, Joshua Lindbo placed gold, 3rd overall in the competition. Jacob Kramer placed gold and 9th overall. Brylee Beeter was silver, 14th overall. Natalee Becker and Miley Nelson placed bronze. Taylor Weber and Logan Hanneman also competed.
Miranda Novodvorsky and Breanna Mindt participated in the Agronomy competition. Bryleigh McBride and Alysa Rice participated in Livestock Judging.

🏀 The boys basketball team got the win against Turtle Mountain! They advance to the regional semi-finals tomorrow against Stanley starting at 6:00 p.m. at the MSU Dome!
The middle school field trip at the Bottineau Winter Park is this Thursday, March 7th! Students in grades 6-8th will be leaving the school at 8:15 am and arriving in Bottineau at about 10 am. We will return to the school beween 5:30 and 6 pm. The busses will stop at the NDSU extension center for a drop off, then return to the school.
Couple notes to remind students, parents and families:
-Lunch will be provided by class funds. If a student wants extra snacks or drinks, please bring money to pay for that separately.
-Students have selected an activity to do throughout the day between tubing, snowboarding, and skiing. If they would like to change their activity throughout the day, it will be a 20 dollar charge the student must pay for.
-If a student has any missing work, overdue library books, or are on the ineligible list, they will not be able to go on the trip. These students will be notified about staying back at the school for the day!
-Please have students prepared for outside activities and weather on Thursday! Hats, gloves, boots, winter coats, snowpants are required to be outside for the day! It is supposed to be cold on Thursday, so be prepared!

Saturday morning our speech team (minus the FFA kids who do speech) was off to Garrison to a three-round tournament, meaning all events ran concurrently. While the day goes faster, it is also more stressful. The original plan was to leave after rounds for the State A Girl's Basketball Championship game, however, with the three-round tournament, awards were announced in time for speakers to drive safely in time for the basketball tourney.
Here are the results for the day:
EPR- Emma Marten took 7th place and Elias Jimenez took 5th place.
Serious Prose- Skylar Beck placed 8th.
Humorous Interp- Maddie Hogue placed 3rd.
Serious Duo- Brooke Leiss and Maddie Hogue placed 6th. Emma Marten and Skylar Beck placed 1st! This qualifies Emma and Skylar for State Speech in April! Congratulations!
Humorous Duo- Emma Marten and Karl Behm placed 2nd in a 3-way tie with duos from Kenmare and Glenburn.
Poetry- Maddie Hogue placed 4th.
Impromptu- Skylar Beck placed 7th. Calen Rohrbach placed 3rd.
Storytelling- Calen Rohrbach placed 7th.
Maddie Hogue earned her last leg to become a member of the ND Speech and Drama 🎭 All State Team. She joins teammates Skylar Beck, Gracie Rauschenberger, and Josh Lindbo.

Congratulations to the girls basketball team on their 2nd place finish at state! It was a great season, and the whole community is proud of you! Also, congratulations to Skotti Beck and Rylee Routledge for being named to the All-Tournament team!
