South Prairie Parents,
A partnership between a school district and its families is key to ensuring that students are making choices that are in their best interest. That’s why South Prairie School Administration and School Board are joining together in this message.
A series of monthly pranks or “challenges” is spreading on the social media platform, TikTok. These include a list of actions users are being encouraged to participate in that may be dangerous, inappropriate, or illegal.
The challenge for October asks students to “Slap a Teacher.” Last month, TikTok users were challenged to destroy restrooms and other school property. While the October “challenge” has not happened at South Prairie School, we did see damage to some of our restrooms. As a school district, we want our students and families to know this behavior will not be tolerated. We ask that you monitor your children social media accounts, talk to them about responsible and respectful cell phone use, and discuss the consequences of participating in these “challenges” such as suspension or expulsions from school, paying restitution, as well as possible criminal charges.
That being said, we know that the vast majority of our students do the right thing every day, are proud of their school, and grateful for their teachers and custodial staff. We thank them for showing school pride and valuing their school culture.
The safety of all students and staff is always our first priority. Should you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s principal or superintendent. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Wayne Stanley, Superintendent

There will be a PTO meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 10/05, at 6:30 pm in Mrs. Zietz's classroom.

HALFTIME CONTEST
To enter your name into the drawing, you can sign up in the South Prairie commons area ahead of time or that night at the game. The drawing will be held at the game that night.

South Prairie Sources of Strength is collecting any new or used South Prairie clothing items that your kids have outgrown or no longer wear. The Booster Club will have a used clothing discount rack at the sporting events. Please make sure clothing items do not have any names on them, are in good condition, and are turned in clean. They can be given to Mrs. Cooper at the HS office, Mrs. Peterson at the Elementary Office, or dropped off at any home event where the clothing is sold. Thank you so much for your donations!

South Prairie DOES have school tomorrow.
Other area schools don’t for teacher professional development, so we just want to clarify that we do have school as scheduled.

Congratulations to Nikki Dobson on winning this year’s Chili Cook-Off! 🌶🏆
