Our crisis team, and staff members, have been working to enhance our emergency procedures and protocol. In order for these to work most effectively, we want our families to be aware of what the procedures mean and what to expect if these situations arise.
Please review the document, which is also available in the “Documents” section of our website for your reference at any time. A copy is also displayed in the classrooms at school.
We also want to clarify that if there is a “secure” or “lockdown” emergency, we will notify parents so they receive accurate information directly from the school. However, please note, that a “shelter in place” does not require parent notification, as the school day continues as normal.
Throughout the year, we will conduct drills to practice these procedures and help our students become familiar with the process. Thank you for partnering with us to make South Prairie a safe place!
