FFA members and parents, there will be several FFA specific opportunities sent out on the Royals app the next few days. These will only be seen if you have the FFA push notification selected in the app. To activate the group, go into the app, select menu, select settings, select push notifications, and select FFA. Refresh the app to receive the notifications. Thank you!

P-EBT BENEFITS You may be eligible to receive P-EBT benefits for your school-aged children this summer. Children who received free or reduced-price lunch through the National School Lunch Program and were attending school at the end of the 22-23 school year. If your children are not currently eligible but might be for the 2023-2024 school year, you are encouraged to complete the P-EBT application and submit a Free/Reduced-Price application by August 25, 2023. Applications for the 23-24 school year will be available after July 5th or in your back to school packet. This year parents/guardians must complete an application to receive Summer P-EBT. The application can be completed online at https://ndsummerebt.nd.gov/ If you can't complete the application online, you can get a paper application by downloading it from our website (in the Documents section). All South Prairie Athletes in Grades 7-12: Brody Myers, new strength coach from Heilman’s Performance, is holding strength sessions for all South Prairie athletes at the school on Mondays and Wednesdays. Girls sessions will be at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 6:30 p.m. These sessions will go for the rest of the summer with the exception of the week of the 4th of July and the last week of July. We encourage all of our athletes to take advantage of this awesome opportunity!

STATE CHAMPIONS! The Royals Trap Team shot a team score of 492 to win their 3rd straight state title! Mathew Abel shot a perfect score of 100 lead the way for the Royals. Ethan Abel shot a 99 to place 2nd overall, with Tate Heer and Connor Johnson shooting 98's to finish 1 out of placing. Brianna Helsene shot a 96 to win the "High Female" shooter award. The Royals had 27 shooters with a score of 90 or better for one of the strongest performances the state has ever seen. South Prairie bested Williston by 10 birds.

Athletes, just a reminder that you can get sports physicals today! South Prairie students have an opportunity for a sports physical with Dr. Mattern Friday 6/16; 8a – 12p at MAYSA arena. and again on July 11th. $30 per physical, $15 if you are a Summer Trinity FASTER participant. ½ of the proceeds go back to the school for sports medicine equipment purchases. Athlete/Parents should download the form attached to flyer, make sure it has a parent signature before coming.

SCHOOL ELECTION NEWS! Due to the parking lot construction, the School Board Election on Tuesday will be held in the elementary cafeteria. When coming to vote, please park in the back and enter door #13. Signs will be posted. Thank you.

Trap Team Wins Best in the West The South Prairie Trap Team won the Scheels Best in the West trap shoot held Saturday at the Minot Gun Club. With a score of 472 the Royals were 7 shots better then the Missouri River Shooting Club from Bismarck/Mandan. Leading the way with scores of 96 were Brianna Helsene and Mathew Abel. Helsene won the High Female Shooter award as well. The next competition will be The State Tournament next Sunday in Horace.

Congratulations to Gage Olson on his 37th place finish out of over 130 golfers at the state golf tournament!

The trap shooting team participated in the Top Ten shoot held in Horace today. 23 teams from North Dakota and western Minnesota brought their best ten shooters with 8 scores counting. South Prairie won with a dominating score of 775, 36 better than 2nd place. Samual Abel won the tournament with a score of 99 edging out Carson Anderson and David Abel’s scores of 98. The Royals averaged 96.75 for the top 8 with a total score of 956 out of 1000. Nice job, everyone!

Congratulations to Gage Olson on shooting a 77 today at regional golf at the Air Force Base and qualifying for the state tournament in Wahpeton on June 6th and 7th!

South Prairie was so lucky to have Ana be a part of our school this year! She was a foreign exchange student who came to us from Spain for her 10th grade year! She was a joy to have in our school and we wish her the absolute best as she goes back to Spain! If you want to say goodbye before she heads back to Spain, stop by her farewell party hosted by the Smith family at Oak Park Shelter #9 tomorrow from 7-9 pm!
