On Tuesday, the South Prairie School Board approved the co-op requests with Max Public Schools.
The joint co-op applications have now been sent to the NDHSAA for final approval. If the NDHSAA gives final approval, the co-ops will start for the 2021-22 school year.
We want to thank everyone for participating in the survey. The board spent a great deal of time reviewing parent surveys and analyzing all of the information acquired. With approximately 60% of parents in favor of the co-op, they acted in support of the parents.
The goal of the co-op is to offer an opportunity for both South Prairie and Max students to participate in activities and compete at a level that they are prepared for. Concerns were expressed about the number of athletes and potential loss of playing time for any and all athletes. In addressing these concerns, the board and administration looked at our current participation in both Volleyball and Girls Basketball. Currently, South Prairie has only 11-14 high school students participating. Younger students are then moved up a level to field teams at the C and JV level.
Forming a co-op with Max will not add 10-15 students at the high school level; it will potentially bring in 4-6 more students and allow all of the students to compete at a level they are prepared for.
Mr. Stanley

Here is the honor roll for quarter two! Great work, Royals!

REMINDER: The deadline to complete the survey is tonight at midnight!
Max Public School has formally requested to co-op with South Prairie for some sports and scholastic extra-curricular activities.
Parents/guardians, please take some time to fill out this survey to provide us with feedback on what would be best for our school. The school board will review the survey results at the monthly meeting on January 12th. The deadline to complete the survey is January 8th at midnight.
