The Royal Rhapsody group did a great job singing a medley of songs this morning to open up the inservice for local educators at Our Redeemer’s Christian School! Thanks for sharing your talent, girls!

Good luck to the girls basketball team today as they kick off the district tournament vs. Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood at 3:00 p.m. at the Minot Auditorium! Yesterday the student body did a great job at the pep rally hyping up both the girls and boys basketball teams and wrestlers for their upcoming games/matches! The teams were introduced, cheerleaders did a great job leading cheers, the students and staff participated in a dance off, and fun was had by all! #GoRoyals 💙 The boys basketball team also has their last home game today! (Refer to yesterday's post for the full schedule).

>> Tomorrow is a big day for Royals basketball! << 🏀Girls Basketball District Tournament: 3:00 p.m. vs. the MLS Mavericks at the Minot Auditorium 🏀Boys C, JV, and Varisty Basketball vs. Stanley at 4:15, 5:45 and 7:00 p.m. It is also senior night and the last home game! 🏀JH Boys Basketball at home vs. Max at 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. 🏀Mini Royals: PK-4th grade will have their pizza party after halftime of the JV boys basketball game (approximately 6:00). PK-1st grade will play during the JV game with 2nd-4th grade playing at halftime of the varsity game. Games start at approximately 5:45 & 7:00, so please make sure your child is here by the start of each game to ensure that they are here in time.

The 9th grade class made Shakespearean masks as an artifact in their gang colors for their Romeo and Juliet unit! They are competing against two other groups in their class from the play in several competitions, this being just one. The three gangs are the Capulets (red and yellow), Veronians (neon pink and yellow), and the Montagues (blue and green). Each member created masks and the strongest mask from each gang faces off in a competition judged by dignitaries of South Prairie School. The students learned that the use of masks during Shakespeare’s plays were for purposes of flirtation for the young people, for fashion of the time, and to protect the wealthy from the sun. Some of the masks will be donated to children’s theatre groups or the 2nd Story Social Club for their annual prom!

We've had great fan support at games so far this year! Let's continue that tonight at the boys basketball games as they take on the Velva Aggies starting at 4:15 p.m. (varsity at 7:15 p.m.). 🇺🇸Tonight is also military appreciation night! 🇺🇸 All veterans and active military personnel will receive free admission to the game and will get a coupon for a free popcorn and drink. They will also be recognized at the beginning of the varsity game along with a special flag ceremony by our South Prairie basketball players, wrestlers, and cheerleaders! You won't want to miss it!

This week is a spirit dress up week to get pumped up for girls district basketball! Monday: Favorite T.E.A.M. Day 🏅🎽💪- Together Everyone Achieves More, so wear your favorite sports team's gear! Tuesday: Red, White, and Blue 🇺🇸- Wear your colors to support our troops and veterans! Wednesday: BLUE OUT 💙- Wear royal blue and show off your school pride! Thursday: Rodeo 🤠- Dress like a cowboy to lasso the Mavericks! Friday: Gone Fishing/Hunting 🥾🎣🦌- We're hunting for a victory!

Tomorrow is regional wrestling duals in Kenmare with the parade of athletes at 9:45 a.m. and wrestling starting at 10:00 a.m.!

❤️ Valentine's Day Goodies For Sale ❤️ The student council is selling Valentine's Day treats! Forms will be sent home or available in the library! Choose which goodie you want to buy for a friend, fill out the form, attach money, and turn it in to Mrs. Hiltner in the library by 3:30 p.m. on February 12th!

For Parents of Mini Royals Basketball Players: The Mini Royals will play tomorrow night during the JV and Varsity games. The PK-1st graders will play at half time of the JV game at approximately 6:00 p.m. The 2nd-4th graders will play at halftime of the varsity game at approximately 7:15 p.m. Games start at 5:45 and 7:00 p.m. Please make sure your child is here by the start of each game to ensure they are here on time. There will be no practice on February 8th. The pizza party will be held February 13th after halftime of the JV game.
